Light Basics And Vocabulary


  • Butterfly

Rembrandt make a triangle shadow and we only need one light. this is great if you're trying to get a great shadow this actually creates a nice triangle that comes off of your nose. one light source.

split light makes a split face and shadow on one side of face and gives a dark sense. split is really good if you wanted to give to person two personalities because you have shadow on one side of the face and the other is lit up. one light source

broad light, make the face more light up.

 butterfly makes shadow  under the nose and cheeks, light is positioned high above the camera. butterfly is used to really brighten up the subject. the only down side to the is that it great. two light sources.

loop light slightly shadows one side of the face. loop is good to use if you jut wanted to give your subject a slight shadow tat wraps around the one side of the face giving the subject a a better look.one light source.
